Help | Downloading | Software | |
The United Nations Web site has information in different electronic formats (e.g. PDF, MPG, RM, etc.) as: guides, documents, videos and sound files that can be viewed or heard if you have the proper software.
If you cannot open a PDF document, or a video, or a sound file, maybe it is because you have not installed the necessary software in your computer. On this page you will find the information for downloading free suitable software. Downloading refers to the method by which you access digital information from a remote computer.
A link will take you to the official Web site from where the application will be downloaded. Links are easy to find because they will appear in a different color, and in addition when you place your mouse over the link a "little hand" will appear.
To download the file you have to click on the logo or over the name of the application. When the system starts downloading you will be prompted to save the file somewhere on your hard drive, or the file may download automatically to your desktop, depending on how your browser is configured. Select "Save to Disk". Then you have to select the folder where you want to keep it.
Once the file is downloaded you must follow the instructions to install.
