is a global coalition of cities and international
support programmes working in the urban environment. The Forum is defined
by the shared concerns of its members, and not by institutional linkages
- it exists only to facilitate the ability of the members, individually
and collectively, to achieve their goals in Environmental Planning and Management.
The Urban Environment Forum holds a global meeting every two years, with
regional or thematic meetings taking place in the interim period. To date,
global meetings have been held in Istanbul (1996) and Shanghai (1998). Regional
and thematic meetings have taken place in Ismailia (1998), Moscow (1998),
Nairobi (1998) and Dubai (1999).
